Yukong

Yukong is a 4★ character obtainable from Warps. She deals Imaginary damage and belongs to the Harmony Path.

Imaginary provides strong crowd control. When an enemy is Weakness Broken by Imaginary DMG, the enemy is pushed down in the turn order (even more than when broken by Quantum) and inflicted with Imprisonment, which reduces the enemy’s Speed stat as well as further delaying their action.
Path of Harmony: These characters apply buffs that improve the team’s combat capabilities.

How to Play

Yukong is an exceptionally strong buffer with a non-negligible amount of personal damage. However, she does require more initial setup than other Harmony characters to take full advantage of her buffs.

Yukong’s primary mechanic is her “Roaring Bowstrings” buff, which starts with 2 stacks and will count down when an ally’s turn ends. For example, if Yukong uses her Skill and her two other teammates act before the damage dealer, the damage dealer will not get the “Roaring Bowstrings” buff. This means a certain amount of Speed tuning is necessary to ensure she functions smoothly. Do note that inserts/interrupts such as Ultimates and Follow-ups do not consume stacks.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

But the Battle Isn’t Over is Bronya’s signature 5★ Warp exclusive Light Cone and can be obtained on the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Heir
Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 10% and regenerates 1 Skill Point when the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally. This effect can be triggered after every 2 uses of the wearer’s Ultimate. When the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action (except the wearer) deals 30% more DMG for 1 turn(s).
Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Secret
At the start of the battle and whenever the wearer’s turn begins, one of the following effects is applied randomly: All allies’ ATK increases by 10%, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 12%, or all allies’ Energy Regeneration Rate increases by 6%. The applied effect cannot be identical to the last effect applied, and will replace the previous effect. The applied effect will be removed when the wearer has been knocked down. Effects of the similar type cannot be stacked.
Past and Future is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car.

Light Cone Ability: Kites From the Past
When the wearer uses their Skill, then the next ally taking action (except the wearer) deals 16% increased DMG for 1 turn(s).
Memories of the Past is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Old Photos
Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 28%. When the wearer attacks, additionally regenerates 4 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.
Meshing Cogs is a 3★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Fleet Triumph
After the wearer uses attacks or gets hit, additionally regenerates 4 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

For Relics, Yukong can run either Musketeer of Wild Wheat for the Speed bonus or the Wastelander of Banditry Desert set for higher personal damage (higher investment option).

For Planars, Yukong appreciates the Fleet of the Ageless Planar for the added survivability and the team-wide ATK% buff. Some setups may prefer having Sprightly Vonwacq.

Relic

Musketeer of Wild Wheat is a Relic set located in Jarilo-VI: Corridor of Fading Echoes. It can also be obtained in Echoes of War and by spending Hertareum at the Internal Purchase Officer in Herta Space Station: Master Control Zone.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: ATK increases by 12%.
4pc: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.
Wastelander of Banditry Desert is a Relic set located in Xianzhou Luofu: Stargazer Navalia.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Imaginary DMG by 10%.
4pc: When attacking debuffed enemies, the wearer’s CRIT Rate increases by 10%, and their CRIT DMG increases by 20% against Imprisoned enemies.

Planar Ornaments

Fleet of the Ageless is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 3.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.
Sprightly Vonwacq is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 4.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s action is Advanced Forward by 40% immediately upon entering battle.

Teambuilding

Yukong has general synergy with almost all damage dealers, providing CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK% buffs with her Ultimate and Skill, as well as DMG% for Imaginary units with her Ascension 4 Trace. Yukong prefers to be slightly faster than any damage dealers to ensure they get “Roaring Bowstrings.”

Yukong is a versatile character that can also be played in multiple teams.

Potential Damage Dealer Options

Seele is a high Speed damage dealer that can take exceptional advantage of Yukong’s buffs by utilizing her Resurgence interaction. Since “Roaring Bowstrings” stacks are not consumed by interrupts, including Seele’s Resurgence, she can “cheat” more buffed turns in with Yukong.
Clara works well with Yukong because a large portion of Clara’s damage tends to come from Counters, which don’t consume “Roaring Bowstrings” stacks, meaning she can use buffed Counters.
Himeko works well with Yukong because a large portion of Himeko’s damage tends to come from Follow-ups and her Ultimate, which don’t consume “Roaring Bowstrings” stacks. This allows “Roaring Bowstrings” to buff Himeko’s primary damage sources.
Welt is currently the only Imaginary damage dealer in the game. As such, he can utilize all of Yukong’s buffs exceptionally well while providing all of his various forms of utility to the team. Beyond that, Welt and Yukong are a strong pairing due to their high Break potential – meaning they can abuse Imprison and CC an enemy for extended periods of time.

Potential Support Options

Bronya combined with Yukong allows for powerful turn manipulation through Advancing allies forward.
Tingyun is a support that provides DMG% and ATK% buffs for your damage dealer and can provide Energy for their Ultimate to ensure maximum damage.

March 7th

March 7th is the first character obtained for free from progressing through the main story. She deals Ice damage and belongs to the Preservation Path.

Ice provides a mix of crowd control and damage. The Freeze effect lasts until the enemy’s next turn. When the Freeze effect expires, it deals damage, prevents the enemy from taking action on that turn, and delays their next action by 50%.
Path of Preservation: These characters possess powerful defensive abilities that protect their allies.

How to Play

March 7th’s main function in a team is to provide a shield for units who might need it. She can also provide utilities like crowd-control via Freeze and Counters that shred enemies’ Toughness Bar. This gives her high value as a free unit since her kit is useful throughout early, mid, and late game with the right investment.

Her Skill allows March 7th to supply shields, which provides defensive utility with just 1 Skill Point. She is heavily reliant on Skill Point management, which can hinder her performance in some Skill Point reliant teams. Her shield also increases the chances that the target of her Skill will get hit. However, this passive does not work if the shielded unit’s current HP is equal to or below 30%. Her Traces enhance the utility value of her Skill, providing her with a Cleanse and increased shield duration.

Her Talent allows March 7th to counterattack when any shielded ally is hit but can only be triggered 2 times per turn. Note that her Talent can trigger from any shield source. This provides some Ice Weakness Break, with her Ultimate also doing the same. Her Ultimate deals multiple hits of AoE Ice DMG that have a 50% base chance to trigger Frozen, which increases to 65% thanks to her A6 Trace. This ability has only 1 hit to trigger Frozen, which would require her to have high Effect Hit Rate to be triggered consistently. Both of these abilities are what she uses to shred the enemy Toughness Bar if Ice Weakness is present.

Her Technique fires a rain of arrows onto an enemy with a 100% base chance to trigger Frozen on a random enemy, which delays their action at the start of battle. This works on both enemies with or without Ice Weakness.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

Moment of Victory is Gepard’s signature Light Cone 5★ and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Verdict
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 24% and Effect Hit Rate by 24%. Increases the chance for the wearer to be attacked by enemies. When the wearer is attacked, increase their DEF by an extra 24% until the end of the wearer’s turn.
This is Me! is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: New Chapter
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%. Increases the DMG of the wearer when they use their Ultimate by 60% of the wearer’s DEF. This effect can only apply 1 time per enemy target.
Day One of My New Life is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: At This Very Moment
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%. After entering battle, increases DMG RES of all allies by 8%. Effects of the same type cannot stack.
We Are Wildfire is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car. A free copy can also be obtained from completing Part 4 of Operation Briefing and by spending 500 Shield at the World Shop in Boulder Town.

Light Cone Ability: Teary-Eyed
At the start of the battle, the DMG dealt to all allies decreases by 8% for 5 turn(s). At the same time, immediately restores HP to all allies equal to 30% of the respective HP difference between the characters’ Max HP and current HP.
Amber is a 3★ Light Cone that can be obtained from Warps and chests. At Superimpose 5 this LC offers better DEF% than comparable 4★ Light Cones, making it a powerful choice for survivability builds.

Light Cone Ability: Stasis
Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%. If the wearer’s current HP is lower than 50%, increases their DEF by a further 16%.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

March 7th appreciates the DEF% and increased shield strength provided by the Knight of Purity Palace set.

Belobog of the Architects can be used for the additional DEF%, while Fleet of the Ageless can provide a more offensive choice, buffing the entire team by providing ATK%. Another option is Sprightly Vonwacq, which grants ERR% and advances March 7th’s action forward at the start of the battle.

Relic

Knight of Purity Palace is a Relic set located in Xianzhou Luofu: Cloudford. It can also be obtained when Trailblazers reach level 17, 32-35, 44, and 47.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increase DEF% by 15%.
4pc: Increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by the Shield created by the wearer by 20%.

Planar Ornaments

Belobog of the Architects is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 6.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s DEF by 15%. When the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate is 50% or higher, the wearer gains an extra 15% DEF.

March 7th‘s strong single-target shield makes her a valuable addition to any team composition as a defensive support option, and her A2 Trace provides a cleanse which further enhances her utility in content such as Simulated Universe World 5.

Her shield has an additional effect which causes targets above 30% HP to get hit more often and hence synergizes well with units that prefer to get hit, such as Clara.

Notable Synergies

Clara utilizes March 7th’s shield very well. Her shield increases Clara’s likelihood to be hit, fully synergizing with Clara’s counterattack-based kit, allowing her to make use of her Talent and tank hits from the enemy as well.
Fire Trailblazer has a unique synergy with March 7th’s Talent due to their party-wide shield. The shield allows March 7th to counterattack whenever any team member is attacked. Additionally, the additional chance to get hit from March 7th’s shield allows Fire Trailblazer to be targeted more often, making it easy to get stacks for their enhanced Basic ATK.
Arlan’s main playstyle revolves around him constantly staying at low HP, thus prioritizing shielders like March 7th on his team rather than healers. He also does not consume Skill Points when casting his Skill as he instead consumes his own HP to cast it, allowing March 7th to frequently cast her shield on him.

Dan Heng

Dan Heng is the second character obtained for free from progressing through the main story. He deals Wind damage and belongs to The Hunt Path.

Wind is a damage-oriented Element that does a moderate amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Wind Shear effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Wind damage per turn. It does more damage against Elite and Boss enemies.
Path of The Hunt: These characters focus on high Single-Target damage. They function best as the main damage dealer against Boss and Elite enemies.

How to Play

Dan Heng is the third part of the starter trio and a formidable single-target Wind damage dealer. He struggles on his own in AoE scenarios but excels against Elites or Bosses. He has some caveats to achieve his peak damage output, but they are quite simple to play around with some practice.

His Skill has a 100% base chance to apply Slow to your target on a CRIT hit, and due to the multihit nature of this Skill, you have several opportunities to apply this Slow per Skill use. You are incentivised to build CRIT Rate on Dan Heng to improve not just his damage, but also the reliability of landing this all-important Slow on enemies.

Dan Heng’s Talent grants Wind Resistance Penetration (RES PEN) to his next attack and has a 2 turn cooldown after this next attack. It can be triggered when Dan Heng is targeted with an ally’s Ability, such as March 7th or Natasha’s Skills. This means that Abilities that target multiple allies also work, such as Natasha or Asta’s Ultimates. However, it will not be triggered by non-targeted effects like the shield provided by the Preservation Trailblazer’s Talent.

The goal is to ensure that every one of Dan Heng’s Ultimates are buffed by his Talent’s RES PEN and used against already Slowed enemies, as this will significantly improve his damage output. It is worth waiting to proc his Talent to line it up with his Ultimate to maximize his damage. However, take care to not sit on an unused Ultimate for too long to avoid wasting Energy.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

In The Night is a 5★ Light Cone that is Seele’s signature Light Cone and was obtainable from the Light Cone Event Warp.

Light Cone Ability: Flowers and Butterflies
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 18%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 10 SPD that exceeds 100, the DMG of the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill is increased by 6% and the CRIT DMG of their Ultimate is increased by 12%. This effect can stack up to 6 time(s).
Cruising in the Stellar Sea is a 5★ Light Cone that can be purchased in the Simulated Universe Store for 8 Herta Bonds. You can purchase it after clearing Simulated Universe World 4 after Trailblazer Level 30. You can also purchase Superimpositions.

Light Cone Ability: Chase
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%, and increases their CRIT Rate against enemies with HP less than or equal to 50% by an extra 8%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, their ATK is increased by 20% for 2 turn(s).
River Flows in Spring is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car. A free copy can also be obtained from completing Part 2 of the Interastral Guide.

Light Cone Ability: Stave Off the Lingering Cold
After entering battle, increase the wearer’s SPD by 8% and DMG by 12%. When the wearer takes DMG, this effect will disappear. This effect will resume after the end of the wearer’s next turn.
Return to Darkness is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Raging Waves
Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%. After a CRIT Hit, there is a 16% fixed chance to dispel 1 buff on the target enemy. This effect can only trigger 1 time per attack.
Swordplay is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Answers of Their Own
For each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by 8%, stacking up to 5 time(s). This effect will be dispelled when the wearer changes targets.
Only Silence Remains is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Record
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. If there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field, increases wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Dan Heng appreciates the Wind DMG% and Advance Forward provided by the Eagle of Twilight Line set. Musketeer of Wild Wheat is a decent early option, while having potential for a 2pc/2pc with Eagle of Twilight Line.

Space Sealing Station provides Dan with additional ATK%. His SPD buff allows him to easily reach the 120 Speed threshold.

Relic

Eagle of Twilight Line is a Relic set located in Herta Space Station: Storage Zone. It can also be obtained by completing the Winter Soldiers’ March Adventure Mission in the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Wind DMG by 10%.
4pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25%.

Planar Ornaments

Space Sealing Station is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 3.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.

Teambuilding

Dan Heng works well as a main damage dealer, supported by units such as Bronya, Tingyun, or Asta to maximize his personal damage contribution through ATK% and DMG% buffs. Dan Heng also works well alongside a secondary damage dealer who is less reliant on Skill Points and/or provides AoE coverage, such as Serval or Qingque. Having a defensive unit to keep Dan Heng healthy is important, especially if they can trigger Dan Heng’s Talent, such as March 7th or Natasha.

It is imperative to bring a unit that can trigger Dan Heng’s Talent, as he loses a lot of damage if you are unable to utilize it.

Potential Supportive Units

Bronya can provide Speed control with her Turn Advance and can simultaneously buff Dan Heng’s damage with her DMG Bonus on her Skill. Bronya’s Ultimate provides additional ATK and CRIT DMG bonuses for her team. Both her Skill and Ultimate trigger Dan Heng’s Talent.
Tingyun provides an ATK buff with her Skill as well as a DMG% buff on her Ultimate. Additionally she can generate 50 Energy for a teammate with her Ultimate. This allows Dan Heng to use his Ultimate more often. Both Tingyun’s Skill and Ultimate will trigger Dan Heng’s Talent.
Asta is a free option that provides a variable ATK buff and Speed through her Ultimate for Dan Heng. Her Ultimate can trigger Dan Heng’s Talent. Using her Ultimate can be tricky with Dan Heng as it can unintentionally trigger his Talent before Dan Heng’s Ultimate is ready. You can play around this by using Asta’s Ultimate during Dan Heng’s Talent downtime or by keeping their Speed stats very similar (with Asta being slightly faster).
Welt is a great supporting character for Dan Heng as he is able to Slow enemies, setting Dan Heng up for a full strength Ultimate without needing Dan Heng to do it himself. Welt also deals non-negligible damage on his own, and he can increase the damage that enemies take with his Ultimate with his A2 Bonus Trace. However he has no way to trigger Dan Heng’s Talent so your team needs to be able to fill this gap.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Potential Secondary Damage Options

Serval is a solid free option that can be used to cover for Dan Heng’s lack of AoE damage, and she can provide great damage without always needing Skill Points thanks to her DoT from Shock.
Qingque is another free option that can achieve impressive damage without necessarily needing Skill Points. She can also use any leftover Skill Points to potentially boost her own damage significantly.

Asta

Asta is a character obtained for free once the Warp system has been unlocked. She deals Fire damage and belongs to the Harmony Path.

Fire is a damage-oriented Element that does a high amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Burn effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Fire damage per turn. It is not affected by enemy type.
Path of Harmony: These characters apply buffs that improve the team’s combat capabilities.

How to Play

Asta is Honkai Star Rail’s premier Speed buffer and Fire breaker as of Version 1.0. Her kit contains Speed, ATK% buffs, Fire DMG%, and Burn effects, allowing her to function as a buffer and secondary damage dealer. Asta’s Skill is a Bounce Skill with significant Toughness damage.

Her playstyle revolves around maintaining stacks of her Talent to provide an ATK% buff, while using her Ultimate to buff the party’s Speed. Asta’s Talent gains stacks upon hitting enemies, granting more stacks if the enemy has Fire Weakness. It reduces by 3 stacks when her turn begins, starting from her second turn in the battle.

Using Asta’s Skill whenever it is available in multi-target scenarios can cause her to be a drain on the party’s SP economy. The RNG nature of her Skill can scatter damage, creating inconsistency in damage output and Talent stacks. Players should weigh the value of Asta’s Talent against the SP cost of her Skill when deciding between it and Basic ATKs. By targeting a specific enemy, you can ensure the first Skill hit will always strike them. Weaving in Basic ATKs allows you to apply Burn through her Traces, and her Skill can rapidly Break enemies weak to Fire, especially in single target scenarios.

Asta’s Technique causes battles to begin with an AoE burst of Fire damage that grants Asta Talent stacks.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

But the Battle Isn’t Over  is Bronya’s 5★ Light Cone and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Dance! Dance! Dance! is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Cannot Stop It!
When the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies’ actions are Advanced Forward by 16%.

Planetary Rendezvous is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone. Planetary Rendezvous will buff Fire characters and should only be used if Asta is paired with Himeko or Hook.

Light Cone Ability: Departure
Upon battle entry, if an ally deals the same DMG Type as the wearer, DMG dealt increases by 12%.
Chorus is a 3★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Concerted
After entering battle, increases the ATK of all allies by 8%. Effects of the same type cannot stack.

Asta appreciates the Speed provided by the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set. Alternatively, Firesmith of Lava-Forging grants increased damage to her Skill. Asta’s choice of Relic set comes down to whichever set offers better substats.

Fleet of the Ageless provides Asta with additional survivability and her team with an ATK buff. As she builds for Speed, she’ll have no issue hitting the 120 Speed threshold to activate this effect.

Firesmith of Lava-Forging is a Relic set located in Xianzhou Luofu: Stargazer Navalia. It can also be obtained by completing the An Eye for an Eye Adventure Mission in the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Fire DMG by 10%.
4pc: Increases the wearer’s Skill DMG by 12%. After unleashing Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Fire DMG by 12% for the next attack.

Teambuilding

Asta is a generalist character who provides a universally valuable stat through her Speed buff, making her an efficient fit into most team compositions. As Asta can act as a secondary damage dealer, buffer, and Breaker, she is a good choice for Flex slots on just about any team.

Herta

Herta is a character obtainable for free from completing the Simulated Universe trial. Three additional Eidolons can be earned from completing Worlds 2, 4, and 6 for the first time. She deals Ice damage and belongs to the Erudition Path.

Ice provides a mix of crowd control and damage. The Freeze effect lasts until the enemy’s next turn. When that enemy’s next turn begins, the Freeze effect expires, dealing damage and preventing the enemy from taking action on that turn as well delaying their next action by 50%.
Path of Erudition: These characters focus on high multi-target damage. They function best as the main damage dealer against groups of enemies.

How to Play

Herta’s Talent is her defining feature, with the conditional damage bonuses of her Skill and Basic ATK being designed around her Talent’s 50% HP threshold. Her playstyle revolves around triggering her Talent follow-up attack whenever an enemy is dropped below half HP, damaging all enemies. This follow-up attack can trigger additional activations of her Talent if it causes an additional enemy to fall below half HP. Against large groups, this can lead to a devastating chain reaction where Herta kills the entire wave for free, however this damage is not as impactful against tougher enemies such as Bosses or Elites, causing her to fall behind other AoE damage dealing options.

Herta’s Skill deals additional damage to targets at high HP, and (at E1) her Basic ATK deals bonus damage to enemies at low HP. Her Skill should be used to push enemies below 50% HP. Should her Talent fail to kill them, Basic ATKs should finish the job. Against single high HP enemies such as Bosses or Elites, it is often worth conserving SP by using Basic ATK regardless of their health. Holding onto SP for other characters or until additional enemies are summoned who can more easily trigger Herta’s Talent is a better strategy.

Note that the damage that reduced an enemy below half HP must have come from Herta or an ally to trigger her Talent. Other damage sources, such as Path Resonance from Simulated Universe or enemy self-damage, do not trigger her Talent. Ally DoT does not immediately trigger Herta’s Talent, but any further direct damage will trigger it as normal.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

Night on the Milky Way is Himeko’s signature 5★ Light Cone and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Meteor Swarm
For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer’s ATK by 9.0%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30% for 1 turn.
Before Dawn is Jing Yuan’s signature 5★ Light Cone and can be obtained from the Light Cone Event Warp.

Light Cone Ability: Long Night
Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 36%. Increases the wearer’s Skill and Ultimate DMG by 18%. After the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, they gain Somnus Corpus. Upon triggering a follow-up attack, Somnus Corpus will be consumed and the follow-up attack DMG increases by 48%.
The Seriousness of Breakfast is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car.

Light Cone Ability: Get Ready
Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 time(s).
Today is Another Peaceful Day is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: A Storm is Coming

Genius’ Repose is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% for 3 turn(s).
The Birth of The Self is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Genius
When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases ATK by 24% for 2 turn(s).

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Herta appreciates the Ice DMG% and increased CRIT DMG after using Ultimate provided by the Hunter of Glacial Forest set. Her free Eidolons grant increased CRIT Rate, further increasing the value of Hunter of Glacial Forest on her.

Inert Salsotto provides Herta with CRIT Rate and additional follow-up attack DMG and Ultimate DMG.

Relic

Hunter of Glacial Forest is a Relic set located in Herta Space Station: Storage Zone. It can also be obtained by completing Operation Briefing (Part 5).

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Ice DMG by 10%.
4pc: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their CRIT DMG increases by 25% for 2 turn(s).

Planar Ornaments

Inert Salsotto is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 6.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

Teambuilding

Herta generally wants to be brought along as a secondary damage dealer for teams that excel in single-target damage. Characters who can deal high amounts of damage in a single pass, particularly to a single target, benefit heavily from Herta’s ability to turn their single-target damage output into AoE damage. Herta generally generates SP instead of spending it, making her a very strong SP battery.

Notable Synergies

Seele wants as much SP as she can get, and Herta has incentive to use Basic ATKs as often as possible. Herta’s Skill has little risk of stealing Seele’s kills, and her Talent will naturally chain off of Seele’s damage output.
Himeko and Herta quickly kill any enemy group with a weakness to Ice, as Herta’s Talent attacks can trigger Himeko’s Talent.
Tingyun and Herta work exceptionally well together when paired with another damage dealer. Damage buffs are only consumed on a character’s action and not on follow-up attacks.
Pela offers AoE defense reduction and high damage output, maximizing the damage done per activation of Herta’s Talent.
When used alongside another damage dealer, Bronya’s CRIT DMG and DMG% buffs work well with Herta’s inherent CRIT Rate from her free Eidolons.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Serval

Serval is a free character who is distributed to all players through the Mail system ingame. She deals Lightning damage and belongs to the Erudition Path.

Lightning is a damage-oriented Element that does a low amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Shock effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Lightning damage per turn. It is not affected by enemy type.
Path of Erudition: These characters focus on high multi-target damage. They function best as the main damage dealer against groups of enemies.

How to Play

Serval is a Lightning damage dealer. She functions well as a secondary damage dealer in both AoE and single-target scenarios, and she’s incredibly flexible in her team choices.

Serval’s Skill hits 3 enemies in a Blast AoE with a high chance of applying the Shock DoT to all enemies hit. As a Blast AoE, it also deals increased Toughness damage. Her Talent lets her deal extra damage against all enemies who are already Shocked. Serval’s Ultimate deals damage to all enemies on the field and extends the duration of all Shock DoTs currently on enemies (including Shock DoTs from other characters or from Weakness Breaks). With this, Serval can perpetuate her own Shock DoT and can deal good damage whilst having a relatively good SP economy.

Serval has two main playstyles: full damage and Break DoT extension. Both playstyles are powerful but just require different Relic sets.

Full damage is a more standard setup focusing on CRIT and ATK%, making the most out of her Talent to deal consistent damage to all foes afflicted with Shock. The other playstyle focuses on abusing Serval’s Shock extension from her Ultimate to extend not only her Skill’s DoT but also Shock DoT from Weakness Break. This way you can build Serval focused purely on Break Effect% and SPD to make her the primary breaker of your team, dealing less damage upfront in exchange for far more passive damage over time.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

After the wearer uses their Skill, additionally regenerates 8 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Serval appreciates the Lightning DMG% provided by the Band of Sizzling Thunder set. She can also make good use of the Break Effect provided by Thief of Shooting Meteor as she can maintain Shock DoT uptime with her Ultimate.

Since she builds Speed, Space Sealing Station provides Serval with additional ATK%.

Relic

Band of Sizzling Thunder is a Relic set located in Xianzhou Luofu: Cloudford.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Lightning DMG by 10%.
4pc: When the wearer uses their Skill, increases the wearer’s ATK by 20% for 1 turn(s).
Thief of Shooting Meteor is a Relic set located in Jarilo-VI: Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone. It can also be obtained in Echoes of War and by spending Strales at the Jeweler’s Pagoda in Xianzhou Luofu: Central Starskiff Haven.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Break Effect by 16%.
4pc: Increases the wearer’s Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy, regenerates 3 Energy.

Serval is a strong generalist AoE damage dealer. She can act as a competent secondary damage dealer in many different team comps.

Potential Supportive Options

Sampo provides nice synergy due to his Ultimate’s 20% buff on all DoT damage, including Serval’s Shock.
Pela provides AoE enemy DEF reduction through her Ultimate and damage bonus on debuffed targets through her Traces, allowing Serval and Pela to significantly contribute to each other’s damage.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Natasha

Natasha is one of the characters obtainable for free from progressing through the main story. She deals Physical damage and belongs to the Abundance Path.

Physical is a damage-oriented Element that does a high amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Bleed effect lasts two turns and does one instance of Physical damage per turn. Bleed does more damage against non-boss enemies, and less against bosses.
Path of Abundance: These characters heal allies and restore HP to the team.

How to Play

Natasha is a Physical support character focused almost entirely on healing. Her Skill is a single-target heal with a small healing effect at the start of the next two turns, while her Ultimate is a straightforward party-wide heal. Her Ascension 2 Trace also allows her Skill to remove one debuff. All of her healing scale off of her Max HP, with her Talent increasing her healing on allies with 30% HP or lower.

Unlike characters made to do damage or break Toughness, Natasha’s Ultimate should always be held until a majority of the team needs to be healed, or if emergency healing is needed. Her Skill can not only be used to deal with single-target healing but can also be used purely to remove important debuffs or enemy targets, with Kafka on Simulated Universe World 5 being an example. While characters are healthy, Natasha can generate Skill Points for her team with her final Eidolon allowing her to do a non-negligible amount of damage.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

Time Waits for No One is Bailu’s signature Light Cone 5★ and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Morn, Noon, Dusk, and Night
Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 18% and Outgoing Healing by 12%. When the wearer heals allies, record the amount of Outgoing Healing. When any ally launches an attack, a random attacked enemy takes Additional DMG equal to 36% of the recorded Outgoing Healing value. This Additional DMG is of the same Type as the wearer’s, is not affected by other buffs, and can only occur 1 time per turn.
Post-Op Conversation is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Mutual Healing
Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 8% and increases Outgoing Healing when they use their Ultimate by 12%.
Shared Feeling is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Cure and Repair
Increases the wearer’s Outgoing Healing by 10%. When using Skill, regenerates 2 Energy for all allies.
Quid Pro Quo is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car.

Light Cone Ability: Enjoy with Rapture
At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates 8 Energy for a randomly chosen ally (excluding the wearer) whose current Energy is lower than 50%.
Warmth Shortens Cold Nights is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Tiny Light
Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 16%. When using Basic ATK or Skill, restores all allies’ HP by an amount equal to 2.0% of their respective Max HP.
Cornucopia is a Warp exclusive 3★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Prosperity
When the wearer uses their Skill or Ultimate, their Outgoing Healing increases by 12%.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Natasha appreciates the Outgoing Healing Boost provided by the Passerby of Wandering Cloud set and the additional Skill Point synergies with her role as an SP battery.

Fleet of the Ageless provides Natasha with additional HP% and her allies with an ATK% buff at the 120 Speed threshold.

Relic

Passerby of Wandering Cloud is a Relic set located in Jarilo-VI: Corridor of Fading Echoes. It can also be obtained when Trailblazers reach level 2627 and by completing Operation Briefing (Part 3).

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
4pc: At the start of the battle, immediately regenerates 1 Skill Point.

Teambuilding

Natasha is currently one of only a handful of other healers in the game. This makes Natasha an important team member in various content scenarios as she is most likely the only healer a beginner will have access to.

Qingque

Qingque is a free character obtained from completing Level 3 of the Forgotten Hall. She deals Quantum damage and belongs to the Erudition Path.

Quantum provides a mix of crowd control and a very low amount of damage upon Weakness Break. When an enemy is Weakness Broken by Quantum DMG, they are inflicted with Entanglement, which pushes them down in the turn order and lasts until the enemy’s next turn. When the Entanglement effect expires it inflicts damage once. This damage increases when the enemy is hit before its turn.
Path of Erudition: These characters focus on high multi-target damage. They function best as the main damage dealer against groups of enemies.

How to Play

Qingque’s damage comes from her Talent. When she has 4 matching tiles, she enters a buffed state where she gains a large ATK% increase and enhances her Basic ATK to be a Blast AoE, dealing significantly more damage and Toughness damage. Qingque will automatically draw 1 new tile on every ally turn. Her Skill will draw 2 tiles per usage, grant Qingque a stacking DMG% bonus, and will grant her an Extra Turn. You can keep drawing tiles until you either get 4 matching tiles or run out of SP. Qingque’s Ultimate deals damage to all enemies on the field and automatically draws 4 matching tiles, ensuring an Enhanced Basic ATK on her next turn.

It is important to note that Qingque’s Enhanced Basic ATK does not recover any SP by default.

Whilst Qingque does have some randomness in her kit, it is generally quite exaggerated. In the rare event that you do not get 4 matching tiles after successive usages of her Skill, you can immediately use her Ultimate to carry over the stacked DMG% bonus; this will make your Ultimate deal significantly more damage and, since your turn isn’t over yet, you can immediately use the guaranteed Enhanced Basic ATK, which will also be affected by the stacked DMG% bonus.

Qingque is also playable as a low SP spender. This mostly focuses on throwing regular Basic ATKs and only using her Skill once per turn or omitting it from the rotation entirely. This works because Qingque will be passively drawing tiles on each ally turn, and so can reach 4 matching tiles naturally over time, allowing her to act as a SP generator for a different primary damage dealer.

Today is Another Peaceful Day is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: A Storm is Coming
After entering battle, increases the wearer’s DMG based on their max energy. Damage increases by 0.20% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy.
Genius’ Repose is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Each Now Has a Role to Play
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 24% for 3 turn(s).
Make the World Clamor is Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone. This Light Cone can also be obtained from the All-Stars Invite web event until 24 May 2023.

Light Cone Ability: The Power of Sound
The wearer regenerates 20 Energy immediately upon entering battle, and increases Ultimate DMG by 32%.
The Seriousness of Breakfast is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoese of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car.

Light Cone Ability: Get Ready
Increases the wearer’s DMG by 12%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer’s ATK increases by 4%, stacking up to 3 time(s).
Sagacity is a Warp exclusive 3★ Light Cone.

Qingque appreciates the Quantum DMG% and DEF ignore provided by the Genius of Brilliant Stars set.

Space Sealing Station provides Qingque with additional ATK%.

Relic

Genius of Brilliant Stars is a Relic set located in Jarilo-VI: Everwinter Hill.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Quantum DMG by 10%.
4pc: When the wearer deals DMG to the target enemy, ignores 10% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the wearer additionally ignores 10% DEF.

Qingque works best as a secondary damage dealer, as using her as a main damage dealer is hard to manage in terms of Skill Point economy. Pair her with a main damage dealer like Dan Heng for single-target focused content or with another multi-target damage dealer like Herta for AoE content and farming.

Potential Damage Options

Dan Heng is the F2P single-target damage dealer, and pairs well with Qingque with a game plan of not using her Skill a lot, letting Dan Heng use them for his own damage output. He also brings Wind coverage to the table.
Herta is a good option if the focus is a farming team. Her follow-up attacks enable strong multi-target damage dealing, combining well with Qingque’s single-target damage output.
Sushang is another strong option for a single-target damage dealer, but you can run into Elemental diversity issues if run alongside Natasha.

Potential Supportive Options

Asta is a great supportive unit. While Qingque generally wants to be slower than her allies, Asta’s team-wide Speed buff does not interfere with that.
Tingyun is an amazing supportive option for Qingque. Her ATK buffs enable Qingque to deal more damage, and the Energy Recharge on Tingyun’s Ultimate allows Qingque to use her own more often.
Pela provides AoE enemy DEF reduction through her Ultimate as well as the ability to remove one buff from an enemy through her Skill. She provides some damage and Ice Elemental coverage.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored. As both characters as Quantum, you can build the rest of your team around the enemies’ non-Quantum Weaknesses.

Pela

Pela is a 4★ character obtainable from Warps. She deals Ice damage and belongs to the Nihility Path.

Ice provides a mix of crowd control and damage. The Freeze effect lasts until the enemy’s next turn. When that enemy’s next turn begins, the Freeze effect expires, dealing damage and preventing the enemy from taking action on that turn as well delaying their next action by 50%.
Path of Nihility: These characters apply debuffs to enemies that reduce their combat capabilities.

How to Play

Pela is a powerful and flexible debuffing support that specializes in shredding enemy DEF. As of Version 1.0, she is the only character that is able to remove buffs from enemies. Due to the universal nature of her effects, decent shield-breaking capabilities, and SP generating potential, she can easily slot into teams for Ice Weakness Breaks or debuffs.

Her Ultimate is the highlight of her kit. It deals damage and has a very high chance of applying the Exposed status to all enemies hit, which shreds 30% of enemy DEF at base level. This debuff expires after two of the enemy’s turns. The Ultimate can also deal decent damage to Toughness Bars, and it has a built-in Energy refund. To take full advantage of Pela’s Ultimate, you should cast it before all other sources of team damage.

Pela’s Skill can dispel a single buff from a target enemy. Some enemy mechanics can be completely mitigated by dispelling the buff causing them (e.g., Mara-Struck revives). Keep in mind that this may be taxing on your SP in an AoE situation if you are attempting to dispel buffs on many enemies, so adjust your playstyle accordingly.

Whilst Pela can increase her damage with her Traces, she is a debuffing support first and foremost. It is recommended to maximize the chances of her Ultimate applying the Exposed status. She should not be relied upon to be your main damage source.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones and Relics is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone. The extra DEF shred from Ensnared benefits the entire party immensely, even with only a maximum uptime of 50%, making it an excellent choice.

Light Cone Ability: Glance Back
When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already Ensnared, then there is a 60% base chance to Ensnare the hit enemy. Ensnared enemies’ DEF decreases by 12% for 1 turn(s).
Eyes of the Prey is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone. Pela doesn’t care about the DoT increase, but the EHR stat is very helpful against strong enemies like bosses, especially at higher refinements.

Light Cone Ability: Self-Confidence
Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 20% and increases DoT by 24%.
Before The Tutorial Mission Starts is an Event exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Quick on the Draw
Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 20%. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, regenerates 4 Energy.
In The Name of The World   is Welt’s 5★ Light Cone and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight. It mainly affects Pela’s personal dmg and her skill’s EHR, which is less important than her Ultimate’s EHR.

Light Cone Ability: Inheritor
Increases the wearer’s DMG to debuffed enemies by 24%. When the wearer uses their Skill, the Effect Hit Rate for this attack increases by 18%, and ATK increases by 24%.
Void is a Warp exclusive 3★ Light Cone. Barring other options, the first few turns of EHR is the best budget option for an early-game Pela.

Light Cone Ability: Fallen
At the start of the battle, the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate increases by 40% for 3 turn(s).

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Pela appreciates the Speed and ATK% provided by the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set as well as the Ice DMG% and CRIT DMG of Hunter of Glacial Forest. Hunter of Glacial Forest prefers a CRIT Rate Body and high Effect Hit Rate Subs, and Musketeer of Wild Wheat prefers an Effect Hit Rate Body and subs.

Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise provides Pela with additional Effect Hit Rate and ATK% based on her Effect Hit Rate, maximizing her debuff uptime on enemies.

Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 5.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 10%. Meanwhile, the wearer’s ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25% of the current Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum of 25%.

Teambuilding

Due to her debuff being applied to enemies and not your allies, units who outpace enemies through high Speed or Slow debuffs will appreciate Pela’s DEF Shred more. This could result in situations where you act multiple times with each unit before the enemy acts, and every instance of damage takes advantage of the DEF Shred.

Pela’s general flexibility allows for her to be easily slotted into teams for Ice coverage, Effect Hit Rate% buff, and debuffs, but she does notably synergize with some units.

Notable Synergies

Seele, due to having plenty of self-buffs, may prefer having access to Pela’s DEF Shred on enemies versus another buffer.
Dan Heng’s Slow debuff can allow more of his attacks to take advantage of Pela’s debuff due to enemies taking more time between turns.

DoT damage dealers like Sampo and Serval can take advantage of Pela’s debuff applying to DoT instances. It’s worth noting that Pela will only affect two ticks of the DoT damage.
In more teams that warrant multiple supports, Pela can be paired with units such as Bronya, Welt, and Asta who increase the number of player actions per enemy actions to take further advantage of her debuff. The damage dealer on Pela’s team could further benefit from additional buffs from Yukong, or the Weakness Implants and debuffs from Silver Wolf.

Sampo

Sampo is a 4★ character obtainable from Warps. He deals Wind damage and belongs to the Nihility Path.

Wind is a damage-oriented Element that does a moderate amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Wind Shear effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Wind damage per turn. It does more damage against Elite and Boss enemies.
Path of Nihility: These characters apply debuffs to enemies that reduce their combat capabilities.

How to Play

Sampo is a secondary damage dealer and debuffer who focuses on Damage Over Time (DoT) effects and works in both AoE and single-target (ST) scenarios. His kit revolves around stacking Wind Shear, an effect that causes enemies to take Wind DoT at the start of their turn. He also provides a debuff that increases enemy vulnerability to DoTs, making him a very good support for DoT-focused carries. Note that the Wind Shear Sampo applies is separate from the Wind Shear applied from a Wind Toughness break, which does not scale off of his ATK. Both of these effects can be applied simultaneously and co-exist on an enemy.

Sampo’s Skill is a Bounce attack, making him good for AoE scenarios as well as offering a powerful single-target Wind Toughness Break. Sampo’s Ultimate deals Wind damage to all enemies and applies a debuff that increases DoT damage taken. When Sampo is being played with other DoT characters, this can be the most important part of his kit, but otherwise it’s just a personal damage buff.

Every time Sampo hits an enemy, he has a 65% base chance of inflicting a stack of Wind Shear. This can stack up to 5 times. Inflicting more stacks causes the timer to refresh, meaning that once an enemy has 5 stacks of Sampo-applied Wind Shear, he only has to use his Basic ATK to maintain them. If breaking enemies is not a priority, Sampo becomes a very Skill Point efficient character in single-target scenarios.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

In the Name of the World  is Welt’s 5★ Light Cone and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Self-Confidence
Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 20% and increases DoT by 24%.

Light Cone Ability: Semibreve Rest
Increases the Break Effect dealt by the wearer by 16%, and increases their DMG to enemies afflicted with Shock or Wind Shear by 16%. This also applies to DoT.
Good Night and Sleep Well is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Toiler
For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12%, stacking up to 3 time(s). This effect also applies to DoT.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Sampo appreciates the Wind DMG% and Advance Forward after Ultimate provided by the Eagle of Twilight Line set. Effect Hit Rate is a good stat to prioritize to improve the reliability of applying Wind Shear, as well as to gain the full benefits of the Pan-Cosmic set.

Planar Ornaments

Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise is a Planar Ornament set located in Simulated Universe: World 5.

Planar Ornament Set Effect:
2pc: Increases the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 10%. Meanwhile, the wearer’s ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25% of the current Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum of 25%.

Teambuilding

Sampo’s kit revolves around DoT effects, making him play well with other characters who apply DoT such as Serval, Hook, and Himeko. Asta and Pela can provide powerful buffs or debuffs that increase the whole party’s damage.

Notable Synergies

Because Sampo’s Ultimate applies a debuff that increases the DoT damage enemies take, damage dealing characters that apply DoT such as Serval, Hook, and Himeko (with her 2nd Ascension Trace).
Asta is a free unit that can increase the whole party’s Speed and ATK%. Her 2nd Ascension Trace allows her to apply a Fire DoT when using her Basic ATK. In addition, if paired with Hook or Himeko, they can benefit from Asta’s Fire DMG% Boost on her Ascension 4 Trace.
Pela’s AoE DEF reduction applies to DoT damage as well (for two ticks). Her Traces increase her damage on debuffed targets. Since Wind Shear and other DoT count as debuffs, this can boost Pela’s personal damage. Additionally, Pela provides a teamwide Effect Hit Rate boost on her 4th Ascension Trace, increasing the reliability of applying DoT effects.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Hook

Hook is a 4★ character obtainable from Warps. She deals Fire damage and belongs to the Destruction Path.

Fire is a damage-oriented Element that does a high amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Burn effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Fire damage per turn. It is not affected by enemy type.
Path of Destruction: These characters focus on a general mix of damage and survivability. They are jack-of-all-trades suited for most combat scenarios.

How to Play

Hook is a Destruction character with considerable single-target Damage. She has a small amount of AoE damage and extra survivability. Her primary goal in any fight is to do as much damage as possible to a single target.

Her Skill has a high chance to apply Burn on the enemy, so Hook should seek to use her Skill every turn. While the Burn does do some damage, its real purpose is to trigger her Talent, which does extra damage and gives extra Energy whenever she attacks a target with Burn.

Since Hook can apply Burn every turn, she has a high uptime on these benefits. This lets her deal more damage and have a higher uptime on her Ultimate after using her Skill once. Her Ultimate does a large amount of damage, and can also trigger her Talent. It also enhances her next Skill, doing extra damage to the target enemy and a small amount to adjacent enemies.

Her Traces give her some resistance to crowd control debuffs and a bit of self-healing whenever she attacks a Burning enemy, though she’ll still probably want a healer or shielder in long fights.

Hook’s Technique does a bit of Fire damage and Burns every enemy. This lets her benefit from her Talent on her first turn, rather than waiting a turn for her to apply it.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Hook appreciates the Fire DMG% and Skill DMG% provided by the Firesmith of Lava-Forging set.

Inert Salsotto provides Hook with CRIT Rate and Ultimate DMG%. Space Sealing Station is also an option if you can reach the 120 Speed threshold, but this can be difficult to attain due to Hook’s low base SPD.

Relic

Firesmith of Lava-Forging is a Relic set located in Xianzhou Luofu: Stargazer Navalia. It can also be obtained by completing the An Eye for an Eye Adventure Mission in the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Fire DMG by 10%.
4pc: Increases the wearer’s Skill DMG by 12%. After unleashing Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Fire DMG by 12% for the next attack.

Hook is a very damage-focused character. As such, she greatly benefits from characters who can increase her damage, either directly or via turn manipulation, such as Bronya, Asta, Tingyun, and Pela.

Notable Synergies

Asta is a free unit and a potent buffer for Hook. She provides a Speed buff, ATK buff, and a Fire DMG buff, all of which Hook benefits from. She also has a chance to Burn an enemy with her Basic ATK, which lets Hook use her Talent more consistently.
Himeko can make up for Hook’s lack of AoE. Her Skill does extra damage against targets with Burn, which should always include whoever Hook’s attacking. She also has a chance to Burn enemies with her A6 Trace, allowing Hook to get value from her Talent more consistently.

Some fast enemies might take multiple turns before Hook, getting rid of their Burn status before her turn. Turn boosters like Bronya or characters that can apply Slow like Welt make this easier to avoid.
Pela provides a DEF Shred for Hook, along with enemy buff removal and some Effect Hit Rate for Hook’s Burn. Since Burn is considered a debuff, Hook also helps Pela get more Energy and do more damage.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Tingyun

Tingyun is 4★ character obtainable from Warps. She deals Lightning damage and belongs to the Harmony Path.

Lightning is a damage-oriented Element that does a low amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Shock effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Lightning damage per turn. It is not affected by enemy type.
Path of Harmony: These characters apply buffs that improve the team’s combat capabilities.

How to Play

Tingyun provides versatile utility that can benefit many units. Her playstyle revolves around buffing allies and using Basic ATKs to drive damage through her Talent.

Tingyun’s Skill provides an ATK buff that scales with the target ally’s ATK, up to a percentage of Tingyun’s own ATK. The buffed ally’s attacks will trigger Additional Lightning DMG which also scale off the ally’s ATK. This buff lasts for 3 turns and should be used on damage dealers to further enhance their damage. Tingyun’s Ultimate gives a DMG buff and regenerates 50 Energy for a target ally. While it can be used to further buff damage dealers and help them use their own Ultimates, her Ultimate can also be used defensively. For example, Tingyun can use her Ultimate on Natasha or Bailu to enable them to heal the team in a pinch.

When Tingyun uses her Basic ATK while an ally is buffed by her Skill, her Talent deals Additional Lightning DMG based on the ATK of that ally. Note that she would only cast her Basic Attack if her Skill buff is still active, allowing her to generate Skill Points and make use of her A6 Trace on that buff timeframe.

Tingyun’s Technique gives herself 50 Energy and can be cast multiple times to fill up her Ultimate before the start of battle.

The applied effect cannot be identical to the last effect applied, and will replace the previous effect. The applied effect will be removed when the wearer has been knocked down. Effects of the similar type cannot be stacked.
Dance! Dance! Dance! is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Cannot Stop It!
When the wearer uses their Ultimate, all allies’ actions are Advanced Forward by 16%.
Memories of the Past is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Planetary Rendezvous is a 4★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Upon battle entry, if an ally deals the same DMG Type as the wearer, DMG dealt increases by 12%.
Chorus is a 3★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Concerted

Meshing Cogs is a 3★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Fleet Triumph
After the wearer uses attacks or gets hit, additionally regenerates 4 Energy. This effect can only be triggered 1 time per turn.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Tingyun appreciates the ATK% and Speed provided by the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set.

Tingyun has two Planar Ornament options depending on the main stat of her Boots. If she is using Speed Boots, Fleet of the Ageless gives ATK% to the entire party, including herself, which benefits her Skill buff. If she is using ATK% Boots, Sprightly Vonwacq allows her to act first in battle, buffing key allies.

Since Tingyun provides a large amount of supportive utility, her team building is very flexible. Her Flat ATK, DMG%, and Energy buff guarantees her a good spot as a Harmony unit with what she provides compared to other units on the same Path. She is most notably paired with Lightning damage dealers since her additional Lightning DMG from her Skill and Talent scales off of the buffed unit’s Lightning DMG Bonus.

Sushang

Sushang is a 4★ character obtainable from Warps. She deals Physical damage and belongs to The Hunt Path.

Physical is a damage-oriented Element that does a high amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Bleed effect lasts two turns and does one instance of Physical damage per turn. Bleed does more damage against non-boss enemies, and less against bosses.
Path of The Hunt: These characters focus on high single-target damage. They function best as the main damage dealer against Boss and Elite enemies.

How to Play

Sushang provides respectable amounts of single-target Physical damage and excels against Boss enemies with large Toughness Bars. She is an inherently fast character with a base 107 SPD stat and the ability to advance her action forward. She also gains a two turn SPD buff when any enemy on the field is Weakness Broken.

Sushang’s Skill has a 33% chance to trigger Additional Physical DMG (known as Sword Stance) if the enemy is not Weakness Broken, and a 100% chance if the enemy is Weakness Broken.

Sushang’s playstyle revolves around her Ultimate, which deals massive Physical damage to an enemy and advances her action forward by 100%. In many cases, this allows Sushang to act again immediately after her Ultimate. After Sushang finishes her Ultimate, she grants herself an ATK% buff and grants her Skill 2 extra chances to trigger Sword Stance for 2 turns. Sword Stances that are triggered this way deal 50% less damage.

The idea of Sushang is to combo a Skill (or Basic ATK, depending on your SP economy) into an Ultimate, and then into another Skill that utilizes the ATK% buff and additional Sword Stance hits granted by her Ultimate. Comboing with Skill > Ultimate > Skill can be deadly against both HP Bars and Toughness Bars, but this combo makes Sushang SP hungry, so plan ahead accordingly.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

Only Silence Remains is a Warp exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Record
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. If there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field, increases wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%.
Darting Arrow is a Warp exclusive 3★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: War Cry
When the wearer defeats an enemy, increases ATK by 24% for 3 turn(s).

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Sushang appreciates the Physical DMG% and ATK% provided by the Champion of Streetwise Boxing set.

Space Sealing Station provides Sushang with additional ATK%. Her Speed buff allows her to easily reach the 120 Speed threshold. Another option is Inert Salsotto that gives CRIT Rate and Ultimate DMG%.

Relic

Champion of Streetwise Boxing is a Relic set located in Jarilo-VI: Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone. It can also be obtained by spending Shields at the Underground Shop in: Jarilo-VI: Boulder Town.

Relic Set Effect:
2pc: Increases Physical DMG by 10%.
4pc: After the wearer attacks or is hit, their ATK increases by 5% for the rest of the battle. This effect can stack up to 5 time(s).

As explained before, Sushang’s Physical Weakness Break capabilities are potent, and her damage is high and consistent against Weakness Broken enemies. Therefore, her ideal teammates help buff her damage in this short window by getting enemies Broken, prolonging the time the enemy spends Broken, or granting Sushang extra actions.

Potential Buff Options

Bronya is an option that can give Sushang powerful buffs as well as more turns against Weakness Broken enemies. Bronya’s Ultimate provides additional ATK and CRIT DMG bonuses for her team.
Tingyun provides an ATK buff with her Skill, as well as a DMG% buff on her Ultimate. Additionally, she can generate 50 Energy for a teammate with her Ultimate. This potentially allows Sushang to perform 2 Ultimates in a single Weakness Break window.
Pela provides AoE enemy DEF reduction through her Ultimate, and can Freeze with Ice Weakness Break. Freeze skips the enemy’s turn and keeps them Broken, which can extend the damage window for Sushang’s Skill usage.
Asta is a free option that provides a variable ATK buff and SPD buff through her Ultimate for Sushang. Her bounce Skill can also break Toughness efficiently against enemies with Fire Weakness.
Silver Wolf is often a great option for single-target situations due to her DEF reduction and Elemental Weakness implant. This allows for more Weakness Breaks and damage dealt, and can allow certain Elements to thrive when they are usually not favored.

Other Notable Freeze Synergies

Gepard is a high-end option for shielding and consistent Freeze application. Similar to Pela, Gepard can freeze the enemy to skip their turn and keep enemies Weakness Broken for Sushang’s Skill to benefit from.
March 7th is an accessible shielder and provides AoE Freeze on her Ultimate for players that don’t have Gepard.

Arlan

Arlan is 4★ character obtainable from Warps. He deals Lightning damage and belongs to the Destruction Path.

Lightning is a damage-oriented Element that does a low amount of damage upon Weakness Break. The Shock effect lasts for two turns and does one instance of Lightning damage per turn. It is not affected by enemy type.
Path of Destruction: These characters focus on a general mix of damage and survivability. They are jack-of-all-trades suited for most combat scenarios.

How to Play

Arlan is primarily a single-target damage dealer. His unique Skill allows him to deal a sizable amount of damage without using your team’s Skill Points.

Unlike other characters, Arlan doesn’t use a Skill Point when he uses a Skill. Instead, he loses 15% of his Max HP. If he’s already at low health, this damage will leave him at 1 HP. This means that you should almost always use his Skill during his turn, since it will do much more damage and generate more Energy than his Basic ATK while still letting your other characters use their own Skills.

Since his Skill lowers his HP, Arlan needs a bit more help staying alive compared to other characters. His Traces improve his survivability, but you’ll probably still need other characters to contribute to his well-being. However, you shouldn’t give him so much support that he stays at his Max HP. His Talent increases his damage based on his current HP, so to maximize his damage, you want his health to be as low as possible without dying.

Arlan’s Ultimate does a large amount of damage to a single enemy and a decent amount of damage to any adjacent enemies. This damage also benefits from his Talent, which is another reason to keep his HP low. His Technique does an attack that damages each enemy when used to enter combat.

Light Cones

In the early game, gearing with specific Light Cones is not necessary to progress. The following list contains a general list of Light Cones that may work well with the character. This list should not be treated as an encompassing ranking of quality.

On the Fall of an Aeon is a 5★ Light Cone that can be purchased in the Simulated Universe Store for 8 Herta Bonds. You can purchase it after clearing Simulated Universe World 4 after Trailblazer Level 30. You can also purchase Superimpositions.

Light Cone Ability: Moth to Flames
Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by 8% in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer’s DMG increases by 12% for 2 turn(s).
Something Irreplaceable is a 5★ Light Cone that is Clara’s signature Light Cone and can be obtained from the Stellar Warp, as a non-rate up on the Light Cone Event Warp, or in the Starlight Exchange for 600 Starlight.

Light Cone Ability: Kinship
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 24%. When the wearer defeats an enemy or is hit, immediately restores HP equal to 8% of the wearer’s ATK. At the same time, the wearer’s DMG is increased by 24% until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack and can only trigger 1 time per turn.
A Secret Vow is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from Warps.

Light Cone Ability: Spare No Effort
Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20%. The wearer also deals an extra 20% of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.
Nowhere to Run is a Nameless Honor exclusive 4★ Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Desperate Times
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 24%. Whenever the wearer defeats an enemy, they restore HP equal to 12%.
Woof! Walk Time! is a 4★ Light Cone that can be obtained from the weekly Echoes of War or purchased from the Light Cone Manifest from the Messenger in the Parlor Car.  A free copy can also be obtained as a reward from spending 390 Hertareum at the Internal Purchase Officer.

Light Cone Ability: Run!
Increases the wearer’s ATK by 10%, and increases their DMG to enemies afflicted with Burn or Bleed by 16%. This also applies to DoT.
Mutual Demise is a 3★ Warp exclusive Light Cone.

Light Cone Ability: Legion
If the wearer’s current HP is lower than 80%, CRIT Rate increases by 24%
.

Relics

In the early game, gearing with specific Relics and Planar Ornament sets is not necessary to progress. KQM will update this section as soon as we are able to confidently offer accurate rankings and evaluations.

Arlan appreciates the Lightning DMG% and ATK% provided by the Band of Sizzling Thunder set. He can use his Skill freely thanks to it costing no SP to easily maintain the ATK% bonus.

Inert Salsotto provides Arlan with CRIT Rate and additional Ultimate DMG%. Space Sealing Station is also an option if you can reach the 120 Speed threshold, however that may be difficult due to Arlan’s low base Speed.

Arlan’s Skill pairs well with any character who wants to use their own Skill often. This can be a character who will buff Arlan’s damage, but often it will be another damage dealer.

Notable Synergies

Arlan’s Skill will inevitably reduce his HP on its own, so bringing teammates that specialize in survivability is a must. Preservation characters are generally preferred, since Arlan does extra damage when he is at lower HP. However, an Abundance character can be as effective at keeping him alive, albeit with less damage.
Gepard is an especially good unit to protect Arlan. Gepard’s Ultimate provides a sizable shield to his entire team. His A2 Trace makes him much more likely to be attacked, reducing the number of hits Arlan may take.
Clara draws a strong amount of Aggro with her Ultimate, making enemies much more likely to hit her than Arlan. She can also afford to use her Skill more often with Arlan, which lets her regain more Energy and do more damage.

Slowing enemies with characters like Welt will decrease the rate at which your team is attacked, which helps keep Arlan safe. You can also get a similar effect by speeding your team up through characters like Asta, who also gives an ATK% buff to Arlan.

Damage dealers that frequently use their Skill, such as Dan Heng, Hook, and Serval, work very well with Arlan since he doesn’t use any Skill Points.
